Mint & Almond Infused Hot Chocolate

Summer has been just brilliant, but soon it will be time to switch gears and slow down as the time for blankets and cozy woollen sweaters approaches. Luckily for us, Milda from Saving Sundays has the perfect antidote for cold weather:

Mint & Almond Infused Hot Chocolate!

While most people hate autumn, I tend to give it the benefit of a doubt. As the nights turn cool and the leaves cascade into vibrant puddles on the lawn I love to cozy up on the sofa under a warm cotton blanket in the arms of my darling and remember the wonderfully spontaneous summer days. It is also the time when the healthy berry smoothies are exchanged for a glass of fragrant mulled wine or a cup of rich hot chocolate, which brings this pleasant warmth to the moment to be enjoyed with your loved ones. Today I am sharing my traditional mint & almond infused hot chocolate recipe with you:


You will need:

  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 5 sprigs fresh mint
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 & 1/2 cups chopped dark chocolate (like 70%)
  • 1/2 cup grind almonds



Pour cream and milk to a small pot and bring to boil. Add springs of mint and put aside for about 30 minutes.

Squeeze the mint from the cream mixture to release essential oils. Add salt to the cream mixture and bring it again to boil.

Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and almonds, let it melt for a minute and then start to mix it. Add marshmallows!
